5th & 6th grade track meet

Kanab Elementary had their annual 5th and 6th grade track meet this past week. It was the only good day of the whole week. Meaning that the wind has blown every day except for Thursday. Which was a perfect day for a track meet. Kierra and Kennede both participated in the meet. They each signed up for 3 events and then they tried out made the4 X 100 relay team. Kennedie signed up for the 200, 400, hurdles, and then she was on the relay tem. Kierra signed up for the 800. hurdles, long jump, and the relay team. They were so nervous! We had gone to the track a couple of times to practice and to get a feel of what they would be doing, so when it came time for them to perform, the did great!!!

Kennedie won four gold medals. She ran four events and won all four!! Way to go Kennedie!!

Kierra won 2 gold medals and a silver. Who knew we had some future track stars.

4 X 100 Team relay. They took first place and almost beat the record!!

Kennedie took first place in the 200 meter race. This one was a little too close.

Kierra took the silver in the long jump. One of her good friends beat her which didn't make her too upset. Kierra's winning jump was 9 feet and 1 inch.

Both Kennedie and Kierra made the finals for the hurdles. Kennedie took first place and Kierra was edged out of third and took fourth.

Kierra ran the 800 and won first place. She ran her best all the way to the end and by the look on her face, was pooped when it was over. Way to go Kierra!!!
