Schools out!

School is finally out! The year went by really fast!! Summer is here, but is sure hasn't felt like summer. The spring this year has been very cold!! This summer is going to be a busy one with youth conferences, girls camp, reunions

Here are a few things that have been going on:

The young women went rapelling again. It is so great to see these young girls put their fears aside and try new things. Kierra and Kennedie were able to go this time. Kennedie was really scared to go down, but after she did that once, she went down another 3 times! She now asks me almost every day when we can go again. Kierra didn't muster up the courage to go down. I was up top taking pictures and she was down below so I didn't have the chance to talk her into it. We had a few of the younger girls that didn't try it. Maybe next time.

Kierra and Kennedie both received awards at the end of year asssembly. They both received super spelling awards for getting 100% on almost every spelling test this year. They both also recieved an attendance award for only being absent 1 time throughout the entire year. Kierra recieved an award for achieving a perfect 4.0 throughout the entire 6th grade year and Kennedie got the same award for achieving a 3.9 for the year. Way to go girls!! They are headed off to middle school next year.

Kierra and Kennedie participated in the 5th and 6th grade track meet again. Kierra signed up for the 800 meter, 50 yard dash, long jump, and then she made the 4X100 relay team. She took the gold in the 800, 50 yard dash, relay, and took a silver in the long jump. I am so proud of her. She did awesome!!

Kennedie particpated in the 100 meter hurdles, 200 m, 400m, and the 4x100 m relay. She took gold in all her events. She is awesome!! Between the two girls, they took the golds in all the running events and a silver in one field event. The only other events were the softball throw and the high jump.
