4 wheeling adventure

Yesterday Jay and I went on on a four wheeling ride. Jay's nephew, Nathan, called us up and asked if we wanted to go riding. We jumped at the chance because we haven't been out that much this year and we wanted to spend some time with Nathan. He had an extra four wheeler so we also invited a co-worker of Jay's that knows a lot about the trails around Kanab. We ended up going out on the National Monument.

Jay and I at the top of the mountain overlooking the highway. You have a 360 degree view from up there. It was beautiful.

Nate and Jay standing in front of some pictographs that we hiked to. They are really hard to see, but they are there.

More pictographs. These were really cool and easier to see.

This is a cliff dwelling that we also had to hike to. We did as much hiking that we did riding. That happens when you are on the monument. You have to stay on designated roads or get in BIG trouble.

We had to be very careful as to not disturb anything. There were also pictographs on the ceilings

Me, Jim, and Nathan. After Jay took this picture, we hear three little beeps. It sounded like someone had just got a text or something except there was no cell service where we were at. It was really freaky. We didn't know where the beeps came from. Jay had already turned the camera off so it wasn't the camera either. We got a little scared thinking that there was a camera that the BLM planted around the site. We shouldn't have been worried because we weren't do anything that we shouldn't have done anyway. It was just a little wierd thinking that someone was watching us. We took a few pictures and because it was starting to get dark, we headed back to where we parked the four wheelers. We certainly didn't want to get stuck hiking in the dark with no flashlight. By the time we got back to the trucks, it was almost 8:00 and getting COLD! We had a lot of fun.
